The Lao government has recently allowed the Philippines to travel visa-free for 30 days. The information below will give you all the necessary details regarding this new development. Due to COVID-19 travelling limitations in Laos, entry is only permitted in extraordinary situations. Arrivals and departures to Laos have been halted for the time being.

THE COVID 19 NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS
Visitors who are exempted from the entrance prohibition must provide the following documents:
- A certificate displaying negative COVID-19 PCR test results should be available no later than 72 hours prior to departure.
- 14-day hotel booking confirmed including transportation details
- Form of Laos Medical Certification signed

- Visas are not being given to visitors from nations where COVID-19 is present. Some exemptions may be allowed for specialists and other critical personnel.Passengers
- Visitors who obtain a negative result should be quarantined for 14 days at a specified hotel or even another institution. The traveller is responsible for all costs during the trip to laos .

VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR LAOS VISA FOR PHILIPPINES NATIONALS
- a passport that is present for at least six months from the date of trip
- Format of Application (This will be filled out by the applicant)
- Photographs with white background)
- A covering letter sent to The Visa Officer Embassy of Laos, giving his name, certification, passport number, objective and length of travel in detail, and notarized.
- The invitation letter
- Itinerary for the Return Ticket
- The most recent personal bank statement (3 months)
- Passport of philippines must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.
- The same as a business visa, with the exception of an invitation
- Financial results: The candidate may furnish any of the following:
- Foreign currency approval.
- A photocopy of your credit and debit cards.
- An original bank account from the last six months.

LAOS VISA POLICY FOR THE PHILIPPINES NATIONALS
- It requires between 3 and 7 business days. If you have just a few days prior to actually travelling and have not yet applied for your processing, we recommend that you utilise our Highly Rapid service.
- The passport should be present for at least 6 months from the date of admission. Visitors should also submit a photocopy of your passport's cover page and personal biography page, both of which must have the MRZ (the two lines at the bottom of the page).
- You must provide your passport's biographical bio section as well as a copy of the eVisa. With all that in mind, it is critical that you download your travel authorization as soon as it appears in your email account.

CONCLUSION
Please note that the Embassy does not require a letter of invitation from any company or organisation in Laos for tourist visas. The Visa Office only requires a letter of recommendation from Filipino companies and organisations when applying for work/residence visas, not tourist ones.
